The examination format for the UTME is designed as a computer-based test (CBT) which evaluates students in four specific subjects. Each candidate is required to choose one subject from the group of Use of English, which is compulsory, and three additional subjects that align with their chosen field of study. The examination known as the UTME is evaluated based on a grading system ranging from 0 to 400. Each subject within the exam has a potential maximum score of 100.
